Once upon a time, I found out you can bottle joy…

I am so excited to be starting this project.  I have a lot of “30 days” things going on as a work at home mom, but all on slightly different schedules.  It keeps me on my toes, right?  It’s my mission to help moms get their “momME” back and a part of that is learning to help them know when they need a little “mommy support.”  That involves providing them with tools they can use and I have a feeling this will be a great one.  Feel free to play along with me and join me on the journey to 30 Days of Joy!

I had the luck and pleasure of coming across Ashley of Jars of Joy on twitter (@Jars_of_Joy).  I am a firm believer that things present themselves before you when you are in need of them, you just need to keep your eyes and heart open.  I am one of a handful of bloggers who are privileged to have received free* 30 day challenge kits in return for writing and sharing our experiences.  As soon as I saw the posting about there being a few kits left and her tagline of “Spreading the Joy one day at a time,” I contacted her.  It didn’t hurt that she was from Nashville, where some of my most favorite business partners are located and in checking her blog, I discovered she is a Zumba enthusiast as well.  That all equaled “I need to meet this woman and get involved in what she is doing.”  While awaiting a response, I took the time to play around longer on her website, www.jarsofjoy.com.

In a nutshell, there are 7 differently themed jars, each filled with 365 colorful slips of paper with an inspiring quote and a “task” for the day.  You can see samples of some of the tasks on the website and I will be documenting the ones that I received.  Each jar is slightly different from the next, but each will help you discover more joy in life.

So on to Day 1:

Wow, we’re not beating around the bush here, are we?   I actually pulled a different one out that was really cool, but I knew today’s schedule would have made it impossible and I want to do it to its fullest.

I love: my hair, my skin (could NOT have said that a year ago), my ability to make people laugh, my sensitivity, my musicality and singing voice, that I’m learning to laugh at myself, that I’m a really good mommy most of the time (my daughter said so, lol), and that I get to help others unmask their radiance and awaken their sparkle by finding their ME’s again.  I love that today is a new day where I get to learn, to share, to inspire, to dream and if things go “wrong,” I love that I get to wake up, read this list, and try it all again.

What about you?  Are you playing along?  Blogging along?  What do you love about you?

*Disclaimer: I received this sample kit free of charge in exchange for writing and sharing about the experience and the product.  I am not reimbursed in any other way.  My thoughts and opinions are my own and may be positive or negative.

I love this idea we get so wrapped up in the chaos of every day life that we forget about what is important. ME I am important if I am not showing up as ME then I am living a fake life. I am not being true to ME who I am intended to be. This is a wonderful activity I think to keep people grounded in themselves. What I love about me is that I am living a Spirit centered life through meditation and spiritual living every day and this unfolds for me as Harmony in my business, Peace in my Soul, Love in my Family, Fitness and physical transformation.
Thank you for the nice reminder about ME.

It’s a lesson that I learning more and more, I have ignored me for so long. The more I surround myself with people that support and uplift me, the more I get connected to source, the more centered I feel. As an SNCC coach I need to remember me even more as I can’t help my clients unless I’m well balanced. I love the jars of joy concept! Such fun!

Love! While my focus is on “momME”s, I’m all about helping everyone get their ME back. It’s so important yet so often gets tossed on the back burner.

Exactly. We can only give what we have, and if we’re empty, there’s nothing to give, or we keep trying and we get resentful. Both losing situations. I love the jars idea and looking forward to posting more about them.

    Brenda,
.I love the idea of a 30 day joy challenge! When I work with my clients I invite them to make a commitment of at least 3 weeks which opens the doors for lasting lifestyle changes. I am personally working on focusing on and creating greater happiness in my life. :-D
    Blessings of health,

    Hi Brenda,
Thanks for this inspiring post! I’ve always felt you can’t love others until you love yourself. This may not work for everyone, but it works for me. We can find inspirations everywhere, and the “7 jars” idea sounds like fun.
