One of fun parts about playing on social media sites like Facebook, is slightly torturing your friend and family.  Last week, I had a blast keeping everyone in suspense for our 2nd and final gender reveal.  After posting an ultrasound pic that only experienced techs would have been able to read… and NOT telling the answer… I made everyone wait out the day so I could do something fun, teasing here and there that we were picking up the balloons, heading to the location, etc.

It's a boy? or is it a girl? Let's go find out!

If you’ve been on Pinterest, you’ve possibly seen some of the great ideas out there.  I wanted to do a photo shoot, but with hubby working and me taking the pics, the job of revealing baby #2′s gender fell to big sister, who happily took the job since it involved playing with balloons.  Thank you to my friend Wendy of Stars Above Balloons for the last minute balloon order to make this shoot happen.

Ready to know if the princess remains the one and only or has to share the throne?

In case you missed my first “Confessions of a Mama Bear” post about showing my daughter on my blog, just a quick reminder that I am cautious about the photos I share of her, even though she acts/models.  So, this isn’t the complete shoot, but gives you the answer you’re looking for :-)

Any guesses?

Could be a boy...

Nope! It's a GIRL!!

What do you mean "let go of the blue ones"?? I'm taking these home!

Congratulations! Your daughter is cute no matter what and so will your next girl as well (if I’m correct).

Many big congratulations to you! This would be a good photo shoot for twins, but I haven’t seen a hint of that from you (would that make you faint?!) This is so cute, the idea of a gender reveal. I love the balloon photos, and I like how discrete you are with your daughter’s pictures.

That is too cute! Two girls. I’m so jealous! I always wanted a girl and I’m the mom of two sons and two grandsons. Never a girl for me. I’m adopting daughters along the way. One of these day one of them will give me a granddaughter!

Cute way to reveal the gender. I’m sure your daughter loved doing it!

I Love that you co-created this with your little girl. I also appreciate that you are so mindful to protect her. Happy growing balloon belly ;-) . A girl! A girl! So exciting….

Oh! Baby on the way! Why am I just learning of this? Wonderful wonderful.

Like others, I love that you did this with your daughter because she can feel so much a part of the process of celebrating the new baby and feel her own bond instead of jealousy . . . well, at least it helps!

You are correct, and thank you! We’re having fun guessing what she might look like since my daughter is my mini-me.

No twins!! We’ve checked and rechecked, lol. I had a lot more ideas, but short on time since everyone wanted an answer and it’s hard when you have to take your own pics. I wasn’t going to hire someone for this.

You’ll get those grand-daughters! My daughter was the first girl on my mom’s side since me. I have 4 nephews and one just had a baby girl and the other will have a baby girl any day now. So this year, my dad gets 2 great-granddaughters and another granddaughter. We tried for a girl this time around and it worked for us :-)

She just loved the balloons, lol.

I knew I wanted to do a photo shoot, but also knew I didn’t want to hire a photographer to shoot all of us, so it worked out perfectly. And she had picked out that dress and never worn it and it was also perfect for this. She’s excited to have a baby sister. In fact, she requested it. If it was a brother, I had strict orders to turn it into a sister :-)

Thank you! Excited and terrified :-)

She actually requested a sibling… a baby sister to be more exact. I know we will still have issues when the time comes, but she’s excited to have a sister.
